Stop animal cruelty

With millions of animals killed each year, that makes an average person kill 10 animals, 10 whole animals for meat consumption, each year. That's a whole lot. So if we have lived for about 13 years, we have murdered 130 animals. And we owe 130 animals their life, so who's going to pay back for the debt?

chickens. they're placed on a conveyor belt, which puts throws them into this bin where they are killed in seconds. mere seconds. because now we have 'progressed' in technology, unlike in the past where the few chickens or ducks reared were so precious that they were only killed for meat during big festivals, animals are killed daily, every second. even as you're probably reading this. only the lucky female ones would be fortunate enough to be spared for the sole purpose of laying eggs. no eggs? then they'll be injected with all sorts of chemicals and harmful substances to make them fat. and there you have you chicken wing. imagine if you were the chicken. thrown onto a belt to be brought to death. awaiting a huge unstoppable machine that would grind you into pieces, while you cry out for your dear life. that's how we put the chickens for the harmful piece of meat. please stop this practice. if you were that chicken, wouldn't you like your life to be spared? normally the police would chase after the one who commits crime, but now in the meat area no police is there. but the law of karma is still there, if the police and you don't care, the law of karma still cares! but the good news is that just change and all will be forgiven. that simple.

Please halt this terrifying, horrible killing. and as we sit in the rain with thunder and lightning, reminding us to change our way of life, and when the wind blows strongly making us shiver, let us remember those people who are starving out there, who are probably lost and alone in the wind, hungry, cold and lost. Because global warming has caused floods and ruined their homes. and this all originates from that piece of meat. just replace it and everything will be fixed. Please spare the lives of the innocent animals. & look at page 62 and 87 of the time magazine for october 5, 2009. The green tip at the top of the page all suggest meatless days :) scientists are aware that a vegan diet can benefit our health immensely as well as the health of our planet. so for the sake of you your ownself, just be veg. k :)'

A vegan on a bummer has less emissions than a meat eater on a bicycle: Meat costs and vegan savings

This is really interesting: http://suprememastertelevision.com/bbs/board.php?bo_table=sos_main

Over a 1 year period, emissions from.. (per person)

-> for a meat eater: same as driving a mid-sized car 4758 km

-> a vegetarian: same as driving a mid-sized car 2427 km (about 50% less)

--> a vegan: same as driving a mid-sized car 627 km (87% less emissions than a meat eater, about 1/7!)

--> organic vegan diet: same as driving a mid-sized car 281 km (94% less emissions than a meat-based diet! )

A vegetarian riding a hummer has less emissions than a meat eater riding a bike. "

"a visit to a slaughter house would be one a vegetarian forever".

& just for info:

vegan ≠ vegetarian

A vegan diet is a strict vegetarian diet. a vegan does not eat eggs, milk, or use any animal products including honey, leather, silk (silkworms are boiled alive to get the silk, but there's one indian company that lets them free off before taking the silk) etc.
Because at first the vegetarian diet was purely veg. but then after a while, ppl started to eat this and that. some claimed to be veg but ate fish, some claimed to be veg but ate only poultry. so to differentiate, one guy called Donald Watson, took the first few letters and last few letters of the word vegetarian to form the new word "vegan". it's called 全素 'quán sù' in chinese, like full-time vegetarian. so less emissions from a vegan diet. on top of that there is organic vegan and raw vegan and many others. so just being veg is quite simple already :)

Veg reports out now

Impact of meat: http://blogs.worldwatch.org/datelinecopenhagen/new-report-livestock-account-for-at-least-half-of-annual-global-ghg-emissions/

& another one: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/environment/article6891362.ece

Just search "'climate change meat" on google, and you'll get a whole list of scientific reports that point to the meat industry as the number one cause of climate change. more are coming out! ppl are starting to realise that they must stop eating meat in order to live :) and this is true.

Live guilt free. be assured that no animal has to die for you, be a human :) live a life of conscience and love

~ About 100 000 animals are murdered, slaughtered each day. 26 animals slaughtered every second (!) in the UK for food, and because of that, 5 child dies every second cause of hunger. Isn't it about time we stop this gruesome practice?

~~
being veg is easy =) just leave that piece of meat alone, and replace it with vegetables/veggie meat. Choose to either be veg and live, or continue eating meat and lose this planet (if the planet is gone, you will be gone, and so will the meat; so even if you want to eat meat, there won't be any meat for you to eat! so why not just be veg now, and preserve the planet and in turn lead much better lives! meat is unnecessary. meat is harmful to our health, the environment which will affect our lives) why won't you just let go of that tiny piece of meat for the whole planet, and all life that exists, and whether it will continue to exist or not depends on your decision, the choice you make starting from the plate. :)

Lifestyle changes for a better world

If the lion is tolie near the lamb peacefully, shouldn't we do it first? just found out that 90% of the ocean's largest fishes have been gone due to overfishing, and most of there fish are fed to the pigs. Not any ordinary pigs, but the pigs that are bred for livestock. So, in other words: grain + corn + fish + 1/3 of the world's land --> pigs (+ thousands of galloons of water, - 90% of energy) --> (goes to us) humans (+ diseases, pandamics like swine flue + taxes to subsidies the meat from S$70++ or US$30 + taxes to go to hospitals to cure patients)it looks a lot like a waste of resources. since we only have 30% of the earth's surface as land, shouldn't we treasure this precious amount of land, and stop using up a third of it for animal raising?. we could use the land to grow organic veggies (said that when we grow organic vegetables, the soil would absorb 40% of the carbon dioxide in the air and store it as carbon in the soil) to feed those hungry and it would be very beneficial to us. no more ppl would have to go hungry every night, and no more child would have to die every 5 seconds due to hunger. switching to a plant-based diet would help improve our health and live longer :) the eskimos living in the arctic who feed on meat with very little veggies normally live only up to 27 years of age. that's about 1/4 of our normal lifespan of a hunder years (100 years supposed to be quite a short time too) well i know it seems hard at first to switch, since it is already a habit to most of us. but if a horse can do it, and a cow can do it, and many celebrities (including americans, yes) can do it, why can't we?just start by cutting down meat, like normally one huge chunk, to a little portion. then maybe try eating at the veggie stall once a week in sch (it's convinient) for lunch. and increase slowly. this can save lots of lives =) the Earth is currently overloaded, our oceans are overloaded, we have got to clean up fast. if your parents show disproval just tell them straight that you don't want to eat meat, we know not that meat uses lots of water, excessive amounts of water, and wastes the resources of the Earth, as well as kill lives. many lives, from the forest we clear, to the animals and other animals to feed the animals, and later probably kill humans from the pandamics (worse to come, so switch soon!) and from diseases. make the change today! there's a whole range of veggie meat available, like ham, sausages, fish, prawn, chicken. luncheon meat even. and they're very delicious (to me even more than meat, because when you put the prawn in your mouth, there is this foul smell. and you feel very heavy after eating it, you feel very down, and get irritated very easily, you have a bad temper etc. but when eating veggie meat, you feel lighter, happier, like in no debt, it feels great) after switching, you won't even feel the loss of meat, or miss meat, in fact you'll guarantee be happier and relieved to have made the change. truly it's like that. please try, there's so many reasons to go veg, economic reasons, environmental reasons, compassion reasons, health reasons, so many. and there might be some misconceptions about malnutrition, but there's surely an alternative for the vitamin or mineral you assume is found in meat only. if unsure, can just search the name of the vitamin on google and select the one on vegetarian society. website is http://www.vegetarian-society.org/ (shows you the alternatives and locations of veggie stalls in Singapore. there's lots of them) so please try today. at least one a week, or twice a week. surely just leaving a piece of meat out for a day will be ok? in fact it would benefit us immensely. really. many ppl have avoided serious illness from colon cancer by eliminating meat from their diet. just try once today. explain to your parents. global warming is not going to happen, it is happening. the question is just how we can stop it. we do not need to wait for green technology, we can just change our diets. scientists have shown that a vegan diet would help in reducing 60% ++ of the emissions. methane from animal agriculture traps heat 72 times more than CO2. but good news is that it does not stay in the air long. so if we change quickily, the situation can be helped. :) A vegetarian diet is a plant-based diet/animal-free diet.Benefits of a vegetarian diet:(Adapted from SupremeMasterTV.com — please visit for more details)Lower blood pressure Lower cholesterol levels Reduce Type 2 diabetes Prevent stroke conditions Reverse atherosclerosis Reduce heart disease risk by 50% Reduce heart surgery risk by 80% Prevent many forms of cancer Stronger immune system Increase life expectancy up to 15 years Higher IQ Conserves up to 70% clean water Saves over 70% of the Amazonian rainforest from clearance for animal grazing A solution for world hunger: Free up 3,433 million hectares of land annually Free up 760 million tons of grain every year (half the world’s grain supply) Consumes 2/3 less fossil fuels than those used for meat production. Reduces pollution from untreated animal waste Maintains cleaner air Saves 4.5 tons of emissions per US household per year Stop 80% of global warming PLUS MORE…

Quick tip #4 Ecofont

Today, we shall take a look at fonts! A wide range of fonts are available, including common ones like arail, or times new roman. Now, have you heard of the ecofont?

You got it from its name! Ecofont is a font that is environment friendly, especially when printing. What's unique about this font is that there are holes in the alphabets, so that (20%) less ink will be required for printing. What an ingenious idea!

You can view or download this cool and considerate font at ecofont.eu , or simply download it from http://www.ecofont.eu/downloads_en.html. Let us have more wondrous ideas to brighten the future of our planet!

This is Spranq Ecofont (called Spranq Ecosans on microsoft word). It's a special font that has holes in the letters so that you save 20% of the ink when you print them out :). And it's good for printing our eportfolio and save lots of trees There are two files available for download, the ttf (true type font) one is the one you're suppose to install into your com if you want it, the zip is something like a preview.

Here's the steps for downloading it:

1. Open Fonts by clicking the Start button , click Control Panel, then select Appearance and Personalization, and the clink Fonts.

2. Click File, and then click Install New Fonts.
If you don't see the File menu, press ALT.

3. In the Add Fonts dialog box, under Drives, click the drive where the font that you want to install is located.

4. Under Folders, double-click the folder containing the fonts that you want to add.

5. Under List of fonts, click the font that you want to add, and then click Install.

Can visit http://www.ecofont.eu/downloads_en.html for more info about downloading it. The official website of ecofont is http://www.ecofont.eu.

And so now you can save ink when printing your stuff :) especially all those multiple page assignments, and it looks nicest when you use font size 12 (you won't be able to notice the holes from far, unless you put it very close)
